#takeaknee FOR DUMMIES

Unbeknownst to you, a man is mortally wounded, currently bleeding out on your front lawn.
He believes his only hope for survival is to muster what’s left of his strength to hurl a stone, shattering your living room window, in order to [GET YOUR ATTENTION/HELP.]
Subsequently, you open your front door and realize the person you suspect to have vandalized your home is critically injured.
What, to you, is the more pressing matter; a totally replaceable window or an irreplaceable life?
The use of undesirable yet crucially necessary means to drawing attention to a matter that may very well result in the preservation of life…
What, to you, is more of a disservice to the ideals our troops fought and died to protect; a man kneeling during the national anthem or the fact that unarmed Americans are continually being slaughtered, in cold blood, often by the very people sworn to protect them?
Adding insult injury, these senseless, unjust killings largely are not even deemed punishable crimes!

All the above considered, directing your ire at Kaepernick for the [peaceful] manner in which he chose to protest police brutality and racial inequality, while ignoring dire societal issues he is attempting to illuminate, is tantamount to calling the police in the wounded man's situation, instead of an ambulance. As you will likely live to see a day when all will have risen for the national anthem, let me remind you who will not have said opportunity;

Eric Garner.
Michael Brown.
Laquan McDonald.
Trayvon Martin.
Freddie Gray.
Sandra Bland.
Tamir Rice.
Walter Scott.
Samuel DuBose.
Alton Sterling.
Philando Castile.
